Maurice Danlage, Pompon to his friends, took advantage of an unscrupulous law on animals to agglomerate himself to a cat named Pompon, whose identity he impersonated. Was he fleeing some creditor, or some tigress of a mistress? He ended his days poisoned by a bird, a former banker, who had been hanging around him for days.
